  • Billing information (processed by Stripe)

2.2 Customer Data

Through the Service, you may upload or we may collect on your behalf:

  • PLC program files and configurations
  • HMI project files
  • Robot program files
  • Device metadata (IP addresses, firmware versions, model numbers)
  • Backup history and version information

Important: We do not access, analyze, or use the contents of your automation programs except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., parsing for diff comparisons, indexing for search).

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
  • Device information (operating system, device type)
  • Feature usage statistics
  • Error reports and performance data

2.4 On-Premise Data

The ProtectPLC on-premise software installed on your network collects:

  • Device discovery information (IP addresses, device types)
  • Connection status and health metrics
  • Backup job status and timing

This software operates within your network and only transmits data to our cloud service as configured by you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process transactions and send billing notifications
  • Send technical notices, updates, and security alerts
  • Respond to support requests
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • AWS: Cloud infrastructure and storage
  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • SendGrid: Email delivery
  • Sentry: Error tracking

4.2 Legal Requirements

4.3 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you of any such change.

Upon account termination, we will delete your data within 30 days, unless legally required to retain it. You may request data export before deletion.

For EU/EEA residents, ProtectPLC acts as a data processor for Customer Data and a data controller for account information. Our legal bases for processing include contract performance, legitimate interests, and consent where applicable.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
